This is no ordinary flame. It is the spirit of the Witch’s Staff (Verbascum thapsus), known in ancient folklore as the Witch’s Torch, the Staff of Power, and the Guardian’s Pillar. Growing beneath the open sky, this plant has been feared and revered for centuries. According to folklore, it was believed to blind demons, repel wandering spirits, and break curses cast by envious hearts. Its towering stalk was once used as a torch in rites performed at midnight, while its smoke was believed to seal thresholds against impure beings. Here, the stalk itself becomes a candle, preserved beneath layers of beeswax, allowing the plant’s ancestral form to remain visible beneath the darkened wax. Scented with peppermint for purification and dusted with powdered amber, invoking the eternal protection of the Sun. Light this candle when shadows gather within your home, when you sense the watchful gaze of malice, or when you find yourself walking between worlds. Let its flame consume ill intent, smother envy, and cast the afflictions of the spirit, screaming, into the void. This is not merely light. It is an ancestral weapon, a living shield, and a pact with the wild forces that walk unseen. Details * Stalks measuring approximately 25–35 cm in length.
